Abstract
The acquisition of transient images in Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) scenarios is an innovative task that enables the reconstruction of objects outside the camera's field of view. This technique faces significant challenges due to factors such as light propagation, the geometric complexity of the environment, and the limited availability of specialized cameras for this application. In this work, we present an interactive Python-based simulation tool that allows researchers and practitioners in the field to model and visualize the behavior of a single-photon detection camera in NLOS scenarios. Our methodology encompasses a three-dimensional representation of the environment using 3D meshes, a physical model that simulates the emission and propagation of photons in the scene, and an edge-resolved transient imaging (ERTI) acquisition system for NLOS scenarios. Furthermore, various scene parameters are implemented to simulate different environments, enabling the adjustment of critical variables such as the camera's field of view, scene dimensions, object size and position, laser intensity, and noise levels. This simulator facilitates the study of the impact of these parameters on transient image acquisition, providing a flexible way to obtain various measurements and contributing to the development of robust computational intelligence solutions for applications such as the reconstruction of objects outside the field of view.
